Step-by-Step Guide to Facilitating Contributions

Donate Central is a multipurpose, 501(C)(3), non-profit corporation established to fund carefully selected, short-term, charitable projects. 

For individuals or groups interested in using Donate Central to raise funds for a qualifying charitable project, here’s how it works:

Step 1: Interested individuals or groups will complete the basic Donate Central Application online, providing:

  • Basic contact information;
  • A description of the proposed project; and
  • An estimate of the required funding.

Step 2: Donate Central will contact the proposed project sponsor to obtain additional information as needed and to review, in detail, how the Donate Central funding process works.

Step 3: For appropriate projects, Donate Central will:

  • Establish an explanatory webpage on the Donate Central website highlighting the project;
  • Establish a special subaccount within Donate Central’s accounting system to track donations and project expenditures;
  • Accept project donations online via credit cards (special arrangements can be made for donations made via check or direct deposit);
  • Provide tax-deductible receipts to donors via e-mail; and
  • Establish (and fund) accounts for project suppliers.

Step 4: Upon project completion:

  • The project sponsor will be required to submit a final report summarizing project accomplishments, funding usage and
  • Any excess funds raised can be donated to another pre-designated charity.
